Immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies of Music Beneath the Trees, a captivating concert that promises a harmonious blend of nature and artistry. Held in the beautiful Balboa Park, this unique event features a new commission by Andres Martin: Thelma & Dolores, a rhapsodic tribute to maternal love. Other highlights include the charismatic Picnic Suite by Claude Bolling, a masterpiece that fuses classical elegance with playful jazz elements. Also featured are Claire Vazart’s Berbol Suite, a tribute to Claude Bolling, John Clayton’s Bach to Blues for solo bass, and Mountain Songs by Robert Beaser for flute and guitar.

Mingei International Museum offers insightful exhibitions as well as an on-site restaurant, Artifact Café. Both the museum and the café will be open prior to the start of Music Beneath the Trees and will stay open until 8:00 pm. Admission to Mingei International Museum is included in the purchase of your ticket to Music Beneath the Trees.

Please note that dinner reservations are required to dine at Artifact Café. The café also includes a bar with open seating.
