flute, string quartet, double bass, piano + visiting composer and artists

an artistic exploration of time

In Search of Time is an exploration of the multifaceted nature of time through the universal language of music. Audiences will be treated to a diverse repertoire including Ginastera, Villa Lobos, and the world premiere of Stefan Cwik's Sunstone for flute, string quartet, bass, and piano.

Sunstone explores the essence of time itself, inspired by the art of Tatiana Ortiz-Rubio and set to the poem Piedra del Sol by Octavio Paz. Both Cwik and Ortiz-Rubio will be present to speak about their creative processes. We will also hear from San Diego/Tijuana-based artist, Hugo Crosthwaite, who was commissioned to create Dr. Anthony Fauci’s portrait for the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery.

Let the power of music wash over you, as this multi-sensory experience transports attendees to a realm where time stands still.
