Take a moment to enjoy this heartwarming performance featuring Gregorio Gonzalez.
Gregorio was a friend of the composer, Daniel Catán – making this even more special.
Daniel Catán (April 3, 1949 – April 9, 2011) was a Mexican composer, writer and professor known particularly for his operas and his contribution of the Spanish language to the international repertory. Catán’s compositional style is described as lush, romantic and lyrical. Upon its premiere in San Diego, Catán’s second opera Rappaccini’s Daughter became the first work by a Mexican composer to be produced by a major opera house in the United States! Wikipedia
The mission of Camarada is to elevate and enrich the San Diego community and beyond by presenting phenomenal chamber music concerts, while engaging diverse audiences through visionary and educational programming, featuring living composers, commissioning new music, and igniting a powerful connection between the audience, artists and music.
