I grew up with his music as it was on heavy rotation on my Dad’s living room turntable. Fast forward to a lifelong dream fulfilled, me on the big stage with Sergio and the band jamming on "Mais Que Nada". Experience the bountiful hues of flute, saxophone and piano in this program dedicated to the prisms of sound and color.  Alexander Scriabin’s mesmerizing Etude in C# minor highlights his obsession with the color of sound.  Scriabin composed in a “counterpoint of light” – he heard sound as literal color, which is known as synesthesia.  Alto in Violet, a Homage to Jimi Hendrix’s music for solo saxophone, electrifies this program by illuminating a bit of purple haze to our prism.
